Charlotte hikers will soon have a new overnight option when they head to Crowders Mountain State Park. Crowders Mountain Village, a vacation destination two miles from the park’s Sparrow Springs entrance, will feature 35 brick-and-wood rental cottages ranging in size from 350-800 square feet.

Crowders Mountain is one of two main peaks within Crowders Mountain State Park, the other peak being The Pinnacle. The park is located in the western Piedmont of North Carolina between the cities of Kings Mountain and Gastonia or about 25 miles (40 km) west of Charlotte. Crowders Mountain abruptly rises nearly 800 feet (240 m) above the surrounding terrain, and has an elevation of 1,625 feet (495 m) above sea level.
Crowders Mountain is located about 30 miles west of Charlotte and is a popular hiking destination that attracts more than 800,000 visitors annually.
